circumventing barriers

Performing for the camera is an precursor to the selfie. It is an art practice that I regularly return to despite the conflicts of purpose created by the ease and cult of selfie capture.

This image series locates my body behind glasses and under a glass table top in response to a 10 second timer. The wrought iron glass topped table is one I grew up. It comes with 5 chairs. The one chair with arms is the one my Dad sat in.

A bit haunting. A bit like drowning under ice. Without a doubt a poetic response to the times.
